Both eyes are now installed in Charlie2. Again I mounted each eye separately because the Charlie McCarthy dolls have uneven eyes. Possibly that's because of the monacle.
I used a new "plug" system to cap the ends of the brass synchro bar. I took a 3/4-inch dowel, cut off 1/2-inch lengths and drilled a hole down the center. I placed a brass washer between the wood cap and the eye post to ensure smooth operation. The caps were then stuck onto the ends of the brass synchro bar and epoxied in place... and it worked!
I realize you might not be able to follow the above explanation, but I had to tell somebody!
