No, the season has not changed while we were in our workshops ignoring the great outdoors.
I received a comment on my "Wired" posting that proved to be very helpful for centering the iris in the eye socket. The suggestion was that I tweak the self-centering spring rather than wire the spring. And it worked like a charm.
What a great idea. Thanks!
I mount each eye individually anymore. I don't use an eye tray, and I find it much easier to get the eyes centered after they are mounted. I have stopped using springs also, they usually create some noise when moving after they are attached to the eye synchronizer. I use wood doll pins with tiny holes drilled which I bend and loop a heavy duty paperclip through, where I tie the control strings, Works very quiet and smooth. For self centering eyes I can attach one spring to the center of the eye synchronizer, and to the back of the head.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kenny and Dan for suggestions on how to solve a common problem.
